Methodology

How we research Malta and Gozo towns and sights.

Our Editorial Philosophy

A useful plan depends on your time, the season and what you want to see. We describe each town and sight using cited sources, then explain the trade-offs.

How We Choose What to Cover

Recommendations consider these criteria and explain their limits:

  1. 1

    Trip fit

Match the traveller, the time available and the decision the guide addresses.

  2. 2

    Scope

Check what a ticket, pass or tour includes, including stated restrictions.

  3. 3

    Season and opening

Distinguish published opening times from current live availability.

  4. 4

    Evidence

Cite factual claims and identify unsupported or uncertain details.

What We Don't Rank By

Understanding what we explicitly exclude matters for trust.

  • ✗Affiliate commission rates
  • ✗Paid placement
  • ✗Invented visits
  • ✗Unverified guarantees

Where Our Data Comes From

Our guides draw on several source types. We prioritise them in this order:

  1. 1. Heritage bodies, museums and parishes

Official descriptions, opening times and ticketing

  2. 2. Tourism offices and transport operators

Visitor information, ferry and bus services

  3. 3. Attributed reporting

Published context with an identifiable source and date

Handling Uncertainty

When a source doesn't confirm a detail, the guide says so and points you to the official page to check. We'd rather be clear about what is published than guess.
